One Voice Mixed Chorus presents Generation, a concert exploring intergenerational relationships across our LGBTQ+ community. With a particular focus on queer youth and elders, the concert weaves together powerful stories of identity, change, and resilience. The concert also premieres a new composition by McKnight composer, Nathan Hall. “Love, Death, What Else?!” is based on stories from elders at the Spirit on the Lake LGBTQ elder apartments. Help support Music in Plymouth. The Music in Plymouth Endowment Fund will host a wine tasting fundraiser October 6, 6-8 p.m. at the Plymouth Community Center. The City of Plymouth presents a performance by The Blue Lotus Middle Eastern Dancers October 14, 7 p.m., at the Plymouth Community Center’s Black Box Theatre, 14800 34th Ave. N.

The City of Plymouth is set to hold the event What a Musical Night: Music and a Musical 7-10 p.m. Friday, August 12 at East Medicine Lake Park, 1740 E. Medicine Lake Blvd.

Since 1975 the weekend following Labor Day in Wayzata has been dedicated to honoring James J. Hill, Minnesota historic figure and once owner of the Great Northern Railroad Company. Hill, builder of the present train depot in 1906, contributed significantly to transform Wayzata into the beautiful tourist location and friendly community we know today. James J. Watch Season 8’s winner, finalist and fan favorites as they take to the stage in head-to-head cooking demonstrations and fun (sometimes messy) challenges with an overall immersive audience experience fun for all ages.  Parade Festivities
Festivities begin at 10 a.m. with decorations for the parade. Children should bring and decorate their bicycles, tricycles and strollers. Children will receive patriotic-themed bags filled with streamers, beads and the like to decorate, but participants may also bring their own decorative materials. Patriotic attire is also encouraged.

The parade begins at 10:30 a.m. with the Star Spangled Banner and other patriotic music, led by the Hamel Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5903. Read more about Happy Birthday America Parade
