Gather up your girlfriends: It’s time for the Girls, Glamour & Giving
event at the Metropolitan Ballroom and Clubroom. The biannual event was
conceived in 2012 and raises money to benefit Interfaith Outreach &
Community Partners (IOCP) in its mission to provide emergency and long-term
solutions for families in need with regard to food, employment, childcare,
housing and more.
“Girls, Glamour & Giving was designed to focus on a fun girls’ night
out,” says Debby Vanderheyden, co-chairwoman of the event.
And that it is. The evening kicks off with time for shopping from local
vendors peddling clothing, jewelry and home accessories, while attendees nosh on
D’Amico-catered appetizers. A light dinner will be served, but the main event
will be a fashion show and a short presentation from local lifestyle blogger
Landyn Hutchinson.
“We really want to highlight Resale 101, our IOCP resale store,” says Terri
Burke, Vanderheyden’s co-chair. The shop is run by IOCP volunteers and is filled
with donated items, with proceeds from sales going back to the foundation.
