Green Issue | Vegetarian Dishes

Thanks to a local educational partnership, over 20 students grades K-6 are now well-versed in being well-mannered.

 

Reasons abound for giving the meat in your diet the heave-ho, from concerns about animal cruelty to health measures like avoiding animal fats—and lately, the environmental impacts of meat production.

 

College sophomore Angela Sandall has been taking photos for as long as she can remember, though she says it truly became an art form for her in her junior high years. This photo of her youngest brother Danny, 8, was taken in her parents’ Plymouth driveway on the Fourth of July 2010.

 

For the first time in Plymouth, local anglers can get their kids out on the waters of Parkers Lake to help support both city and Rotary at the Kids Fishing event July 15.

Plymouth resident Jora Bart says she’s a big fan of the RiverCentre’s “50-50 in 2” program, which since 2009 focuses on both reducing trash and increasing recycling by 50 percent in two years. This spring, six months ahead of schedule, the program exceeded its goal.
