This year, Kids Fest takes the fun of a summer carnival and combines it with learning opportunities featuring animals and environmental themed activities. This annual family-friendly event at the Hilde Performance Center will get kids of all ages engaged with education activities, events and entertainment.
The fun begins with visiting critters and their handlers from the Minnesota Zoo’s Zoomobile. Learn about the importance of the complex ecosystem of the rainforest and meet some of the species that live there.
Kids can also participate in other activities, get fancy with face painting, release some energy on inflatable play structures and try out classic carnival style games for the chance to win cool prizes. Tickets are available for purchase for each game, or festival-goers can invest in a wristband for unlimited fun.
Need some dinner? Food and drinks will be available for purchase throughout the event from food trucks and vendors with kid-approved fare. Wrap up the night with the song stylings of the Teddy Bear Band. These musical dads perform fun and imaginative songs with a little bit of magic and a lot of audience participation.
Game tickets are 25 cents each, unlimited wristband for sale before July 25 for $7, $8 on the day of the event. Visit the Zoomobile 6–6:45 p.m., Teddy Bear Band performs 7–8 p.m. July 28. 6–9 p.m. Hilde Performance Center.
