Mike Muller’s love for the motion picture business began at the ripe old age
of 8. In the late 1940s, Mike’s grandfather A.B. Muller operated single movie
theatres in Monticello, Annandale and Maple Lake, and he put the boy to work
popping popcorn behind the concessions stand. Not only did the job keep Mike out
of trouble—as his grandfather had hoped—but it also increased his love for
cinema even more.
Fast forward to today, and Mike Muller is the president of Muller Family
Theatres, a family-owned and -operated chain with eight locations, including
Willow Creek 12 in Plymouth. Summer is prime time for film studios to release
big-budget sequels and reboots, according to Justin Ayd, social media manager at
Willow Creek 12. “With films like The Amazing Spider Man 2, X-Men: Days of
Future Past, How To Train Your Dragon 2 and Transformers 4, we’re surely
anticipating large crowds this summer.”
