ONLINE: Plymouth Hosts Third Pet Expo
STORY:
So many of us here in Plymouth are animal lovers, whether your particular pet of choice is a hedgehog, snake, chinchilla, or everyday dog or cat. And partially for that reason, the city of Plymouth launched a Pet Expo in 2012, in which pet care aficionados, rescue centers, merchandise vendors and K9 officers share exhibits for all the public to see—free! “Because animals are such an integral part of people’s lives, we thought we would offer such an event,” recreation specialist Dan Lauer says. This year the expo returns from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on October 25 at Plymouth Creek Center—a change from the first year when it was two days long. A vendor survey suggested one day would be enough time, and it was indeed: Last year, the event drew 36 vendors and 552 attendees, Lauer says. This year he anticipates similar numbers. Check it out—and bring your furry friends! 14800 34th Ave.; 763.509.5200; plymouthmn.gov —Laura Haraldson
