The Plymouth Farmer's Market Keeps It Fresh This August and September

Someone shopping fresh apples at a farmer's market.
Visit a local spot for fresh veggies and fruit, and it’s open longer than you might think.

Between the dog days of summer and that first chill of autumn, the Plymouth Farmers Market is still going strong. It may feel late in the season, but this August and September (and even the first week of October), you can stock your fridge with fresh produce grown locally.

Every Wednesday from 2:30–6:30 p.m., the booths at Parkers Lake Playfield offer fruits, vegetables and an assortment of prepared foods from breads to olive oil. Grab a cup of coffee or a bright bouquet, and meet some of your local farmers at this fun evening market.

Not quite sure what to make of some of the produce hitting the stalls this time of year (or any time of year for that matter)? Farmers markets are a great opportunity to get educated, whether you’re wondering what something is called or what it can be used for. Ask a farmer to find out, and in the process get a few new ideas for your at-home menu this fall.
