Abode & Co.’s clothing is aimed at the modern woman, with an updated French-Canadian style, says creative director and designer David Bakken. He describes the home furnishing lines as a bit traditional, but with unique pops of textures and colors for a new spin.
On top of clothing and décor retail, the store offers in-home design appointments, working with clients to transform their spaces into their dream home.
“We just go in and assess what the client wants and needs and put it all together,” Bakken says, adding this includes everything from paint and wallpaper to window treatments and furniture.
For Bakken, Abode & Co. is a neighborhood store driven by design. “If I need something quick, I can just stop in and get a few nice things that we haven’t been able to get in Plymouth before,” he says.
