Plymouth home design firm Mingle has you covered with this season’s trends in colors, patterns and textures. “Oak is actually back, believe it or not,” says kitchen and bath designer Megan Dent. Many people are opting for gray-stained oak in their kitchens and bathrooms.
When it comes to trends emerging in kitchen and bath design, Dent says people are steering away from traditional neutral colors and shapes and opting for more colorful, geometric formations. “A lot of polygons, basically,” she says.
The best colors for decorating this season are rich jewel-tones. These deep shades complement both satin brass, a design mainstay, and the trendier choice of black framing and fixtures. “It’s subtle, but really striking at the same time,” says Dent.
If you’re on the fence, Dent recommends incorporating trends in a smaller, non-permanent way. This way, “you’re on-trend, but you’re not doing a navy blue kitchen either.”
