Easy Valentine’s Gifts

Cookie baskets, great local restaurants and Plymouth on stage.

Valentine’s Day is upon us, and a bouquet of flowers is the easy way to go. This year, try these different gift ideas from around Plymouth to show your love.

Order a cookie basket from Cookies by Design. This national chain has a branch in Plymouth, and they hand-craft decorated cookie bouquets and baskets. “It’s a great option, because you can’t eat a flower,” says former manager Pattie Johnson. They have a wide variety of options, ranging in price from $7.99 to $115. A small cookie basket runs for $44.99 with five cookies, up to a 12-cookie basket for $90.99. They offer same-day service, but around Valentine’s Day, they prefer 24 to 48 hours’ notice.

If you are looking for a low- key evening, dinner and a movie is a good option. Choose from Jake’s City Grille, Kobe Japanese Restaurant, or Latuff’s Pizzeria for authentic pies and pastas. From there, head to Plymouth Grand 15 and pick a movie you want to see—without the kids.

If a movie isn’t your style, you can head to the Plymouth Playhouse after dinner. Have a relaxing dinner at Green Mill, then attend Rise Up, O Men, a Church Basement Ladies play focusing on the men in the church.
