Von Hanson’s Meats offers tips and tricks to make the most of your BBQ.

Summertime means grilling out; make your BBQ one to remember with advice and meats from Von Hanson’s.

“Everything that we do, we’re more hands on. We’re producing the products right here at store level… adding our own little flavors and twists,” says Plymouth location manager Darren Pfeffer.

Some of the most popular summer selections include grill steaks, specialty brats and burger patties, along with selections of sulfate-free pork and chicken. Von Hanson’s also offers prepared hors d’oeuvres ready to cook, wood chips, seasonings and recipes.

Pfeffer recommends this recipe for your next barbecue:

Von Hanson’s BBQ Ribs

  • 1 lb. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 tsp. V.H. Special Spice
  • 1 tsp. V.H. Signature Rub
  • 1–2 tsp. V.H. Black and Cajun Spice
  • 1 Tbsp. V.H. Ultimate Steak Rub

Combine ingredients and rub onto both sides of ribs until they are moist and the rub sticks. Let sit for at least 30 minutes. Recoat, especially the tops. Cook in preheated oven at 225° F for two hours. Finish on medium-low grill for 30–45 minutes or until internal temperature is 155°. Let sit 10–15 minutes.
