“Blue-sky thinking” is defined as creativity that is not limited by current convention. Plymouth resident and longtime ad man Brian Kroening says this is the philosophy he intended to adhere to when he started Agency Blue.
“We like to think of ourselves as the ring leader for creative solutions,” says Kroening, who recently began taking his own approach to serving brands of all sizes.
Agency Blue focuses on examining a company’s greatest strengths and how they can be used to develop a new, brand-defining voice to effectively reach clients. Regarding his methods, Kroening says he approaches the business with the same attitude, but with less overhead, and therefore Agency Blue is able to collapse the time it takes to reach business-changing ideas. He and company president Leslie Crayne are able to achieve a type of pure efficiency by operating as a collective creative entity, bringing in custom groups for individual projects. “It’s sophisticated, big thinking that’s to the point, more direct,” he says.
Before beginning Agency Blue in 2014, Kroening made a name for himself as guitarist and founding member of the band Rocket Club. “In the best way, it was a hobby run amok,” he says. Though the group has disbanded, Kroening still finds time to strum out old tunes on his acoustic Gibson J-45.
With a growing list of clients, Agency Blue continues to innovate and make great ideas accessible to brands of all sizes.
