Nothing says spring quite like bright floral colors and gardens, and two annual Plymouth events boast them both. The artsy Primavera (Spanish for spring) takes place April 12–16 this year, while the city’s Yard & Garden Expo will simultaneously be held at the fieldhouse April 13–14.
Recreation supervisors Dan Lauer and Travis Karlen anticipate good turnouts to both events. “Expo happenings include the Minnesota marketplace, where residents can purchase fresh local goods,” Lauer says, adding there will also be landscape and home ideas, green living information, an “awesome” plant sale, flower bouquet design tutorials and a children’s play area filled with activities to distract the wee ones while Mom and Dad get a head start on the annual yard work.
Karlen notes that the long weekend of arts is equally exciting: “We will be featuring the play Art on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon,” he says, adding that the juried art show judging takes place Thursday afternoon and that literary night is Sunday, featuring this year’s Citywide Read, Under a Flaming Sky by Daniel James Brown.
