Plymouth Towne Square and Vicksburg Crossing
These two senior living facilities are owned and operated by the Plymouth Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA),,which works to meet the needs of the growing senior population in Plymouth.
Opened in 1994, Plymouth Towne Square is an apartment complex for ages 55 and up that provides an affordable independent living environment. Offering 99 units, it includes one and two-bedroom floor plans. The complex provides underground heated parking, community rooms and a library with computers. Located near Plymouth City Center, seniors have convenient access to many shopping and dining options, as well as movie theaters, medical facilities and a Life Time Fitness facility.
Opened in 2006, Vicksburg Crossing is the HRA’s newest independent senior living complex. Located near major retailers, restaurants and grocery stores, Vicksburg Crossing offers an environment for seniors who prefer a more social and active lifestyle. The complex has in-unit washers and dryers, a fitness center, community rooms, computers for residents’ use and a library. It has 96 units, including one-bedroom units, one-bedroom plus den
and two-bedroom units.
Trillium Woods
Located on 46 acres of hilly woodland with a lake view, Trillium Woods is an independent community. “We focus on overall well-being, including fitness, nutrition, and dynamic lifestyles. We feature a clubhouse with activities including aerobics,strength training, a spa and an indoor swimming pool,” says Elizabeth Ann Fetner, executive director.
“One of the distinct advantages of living at Trillium Woods is that we have the ability to deliver a full continuum of quality, long-term health services all within the comfort of a familiar setting,” Fetner says, referring to The Birches, an on-site health care center. Trillium Woods offers access to a personal Health and Wellness Navigator, who acts as a liaison for residents to schedule and coordinate health-related appointments.
Trillium Woods has over 200 residences with 14 different floor plans. The units feature full modern kitchens, walk-in closets, washers and dryers, along with attached or underground garages.
SummerWood of Plymouth
Offered by Presbyterian Homes and Services, SummerWood of Plymouth offers its residents both assisted and independent living options. SummerWood provides an array of in-house amenities, as well as access to local shops, restaurants, libraries and more. SummerWood of Plymouth is pet-friendly, and features an outdoor walking trail, spiritual care, a wellness center, game room, restaurant dining and a convenience store.
Brookdale
Focused on specialized care for those with Alzheimers and other types of dementia, Brookdale Plymouth is a senior living community dedicated to providing compassionate care for its residents. Understanding the challenges that dementia brings, Brookdale Plymouth features a unique dining experience designed specifically for their Alzheimer’s and dementia care residents, as well as an enclosed courtyard with gardens and walking paths. Brookdale focuses on wellness programs and activities that enhance residents’ everyday lives, including discussion groups and exercise classes.
The Waters
Whether you’re looking for entirely independent living, in-home health services or just a little help around the house, The Waters allows residents to customize the options that match their needs. Residents have access to a luxury spa and salon, as well as The Waters Restaurant and Café. The Waters focuses on hospitality with innovative personal well-being services, and on-site, licensed nurse available 24/7.
Cornerstone Commons
A community for seniors centered in Christian spirituality, Cornerstone Commons offers options including independent living, in-home care and more. Services and amenities promote maximum independence and self-esteem, while also providing residents with support and guidance for daily success. In addition to weekly housekeeping and transportation services, Cornerstone Commons provides its residents with restaurant style dining and professional healthcare services.
