Seventy-eight years ago, four golfing teachers opened a modest general store in town. Three generations of family ownership later, Plymouth’s Foursome Fine Apparel and Shoes won the coveted MR Magazine Uptown Downtown Award for “luxury and/or contemporary merchants for their innovation and exceptional retail accomplishments.”
The Uptown Downtown award is given to the top 10 men’s retailers each year. Owner Nicole Chose and the rest of the crew from The Foursome got to accept the 2013 award on July 22, which was the anniversary of the birthday of founder Ron Engel, Chose’s grandfather.
