Looking for the right adult beverages to match the crisp-to-cold weather? Haskell’s vice president of sales and marketing John Farrell III, has you covered.

When entertaining, hosts want something easy rather than mixing complicated drinks, says Farrell. And you can’t get much easier than these two crowd-pleasing cocktails.

American Kir Royale
Serves 1

  • 1 oz. Wild Moon or Good Land cranberry liqueur
  • 3 oz. sparkling wine

In a champagne flute, add desired amount of liqueur. Top with sparkling wine.

Grog
Serves 1

  • 2 oz. rum
  • 3 oz. hot cider
  • Brown or white sugar
  • Lemon juice
  • Cinnamon

In a mug, combine rum, hot cider and lemon juice. Add sugar to taste and stir. Dust with cinnamon if desired.

Wine Suggestions
For fall and winter entertaining, Farrell says, “Always have something ready. I keep a bottle of good sparkling wine in the fridge—just in case.” Farrell recommends Louis Bouillot sparkling rosé, priced at around $20.

Farrell says, “Keep some good, inexpensive wine on hand. No big crazy wine cellar, just some good under $15 reds and whites in the basement for the quick open and enjoy!”

Farrell’s picks: Louis Martini cabernet, about $13; Fog Mountain cabernet, about $12; Koala Ranch chardonnay, about $8.
