Eat Shop’s Burger of the Month fundraising program enters its second year.
Eat Shop owner Reid Sellgren.

Each month, Eat Shop invites community organizations to auction off a $300 burger,(minimum bid)personalized to the winning bidder’s taste which will then be featured on the restaurant’s menu.

November marks the one-year anniversary of Eat Shop’s “Burger of the Month” fundraising program, which to date has benefitted six local organizations, including Ordway Circle of Stars, Oakwood Elementary, Wayzata Family Learning Center, Redeemer School, Senate District 44 and Interfaith Outreach Community Partners.

“We’d like to continue to find fun and creative things to do to help out the community,” says Eat Shop owner Reid Sellgren. “In the future, maybe guests can have a drink named after them.”

Of the personalized burgers, Sellgren’s favorite, “The Bergie,” ran throughout July. The pickle, cream cheese and ham-loaded burger raised money for the Wayzata Learning Center and was named after parent advisory board members Eric and Laurie Berg.

This month, it’s the $12.95 “Gsus” burger, made with peanut butter, jalapeno, mozzarella cheese and pizza sauce, the brainstorm of Josh and Sara Gerber, who bid top dollar at the IOCP “Spread Your Wings” gala. Josh says he likes the letter G, and adds that “this combination tastes incredible, and like Jesus, we believe it will change your life.” 16605 County Road 24; 763.270.5929
