From the field to the court to the stage, 16-year-old Laura Studanski does it all—and she does it all well. The junior at West Lutheran High School has played volleyball and basketball, been the captain of her softball team, and had the lead role of Narrator in last spring’s school musical, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. We asked her where she thinks all of this activity will take her in the future:
How do you balance all of your
different activities?
I like being busy and pushing myself. I just focus on taking one day at a time and working extra hard if I want to be good at something.
When did you start exploring all of
these activities?
When I was a toddler. I played softball as my main sport, and I really liked the team effort of it. I started the theater through grade school, just doing small school productions, and I really liked being artistic and creative.
Name more extracurriculars you are involved in.
I am in National Honor Society and a traveling choir at school called Western Accents, and I play saxophone in the school band.
What are your future goals? I don’t think I will carry on with sports competitively in college, but I am really interested in going into pharmacy. I’ve looked at the University of Minnesota, and I’m pretty set on going there. For now, I’m just focusing on the things I love, because I still have a few more years to do them. —Kelly Higginson
