Local Light Show Returns

Mike Justak’s 40,000-light holiday display raises awareness for Parkinson’s Disease.

On Monday, November 26, Mayor Kelli Slavik helped resident Mike Justak flip the switch on his annual holiday light display, PD Shimmers. For the third year in a row, Justak has filled his Plymouth front yard with more than 40,000 lights that shimmer and dance in sync to music broadcast over a low-power FM station.

Justak, who suffers from Parkinson’s Disease, uses PD Shimmers as a way to provide a message of hope to fellow Parkinson’s patients while also raising funds for his nonprofit, The Mike Justak Foundation for Parkinson’s Disease. Funds can be donated online or via a donation box in his front yard.
