Who doesn’t love puppies? They’re always happy to see you and want your affection.
Those friendships are taken to a whole new level with Helping Paws, a Hopkins-based nonprofit that matches disabled people with Labrador retriever service dogs.
Helping Paws has set up more than 150 pairs in its 25-year history.
Read about these dogs and their Plymouth caretakers in the June issue of Plymouth Magazine, available June 1 at plymouthmag.com. Until then, read up on the 14th annual Fore Paws Golf Tournament, August 4 at French Lake Golf Course in Maple Grove. The social event will include games, golf and, of course, dogs.
If you want to help provide a service dog to someone in need, become a benefactor of the blue coat benefactor dog sponsorship program. Contribution levels range from $250 to $5,000. Read more about the tourney and benefactor opportunities at Helping Paws' website.
