Beermeister Homebrew Store in Medina is a Brewers’ Paradise

Beermeister is quickly becoming a one-stop-shop for homebrewers in and around the metro.

With about 1.2 million homebrewers in the United States, brewing supplies are in high demand. Having recently added homebrew equipment to the Beermeister inventory, owners Randy and Michele Mader, who were living in California, pulled up stakes and headed back to Minnesota, where the popularity of homebrewing is becoming nothing short of explosive.

Before the advent of craft beer, Beermeister was one of the first companies to specialize in kegerators, cooling units designed to chill and dispense beer kegs. It was only a couple of years ago that Randy began to notice that kegerators were popular fixtures for homebrewers from which to dipense their homemade libations.

After enlisting homebrew expert Jon Kammer to help spearhead the operation, Beermeister opened its first location in Medina. The company is an active purveyor of everything you need to start brewing both beer and wine.

“Grain, hops (dry), yeast, carboys ... Everything from brew to distribution,” Randy Mader explains, adding that they also sell 70 recipe kits for beer and wine. They have caps, bottles and even glassware from which to enjoy a finished brew.

Pale ales, according to Mader, make for a solid beginner brew, and hoppy “India Pale Ale [recipes] are hot,” he says, closely followed by the SPA Cream Ale, a light-bodied, velvety recipe, and Iron Range Red, a moderately hopped red ale. 3795 Pinto Drive; 763.479.2739.
