Officer Angela Haseman: Mrs. S.D.

A Plymouth Police Officer uses her pageant title to further her cause.

Beauty pageants and law enforcement might seem an unlikely combo, but Officer Angela Haseman, for one, thinks they are a good mix. Haseman, a member of the Plymouth Police Department for 12 years and chairperson of the Minnesota Crime-free (CFMH) multi-housing committee since 2009, is also currently serving as Mrs. South Dakota United States.

Turns out Mrs. S.D. doesn’t stray far from her work with the CFMH. For her latest pageant, Haseman adopted a platform of Terrorism Awareness and Prevention (TAP) to increase awareness and education.

Somewhat new to pageants, Haseman began competing in 2005 after some encouragement from her husband, Lee, and has since gone on to compete in six pageants, winning titles such as Mrs. Minnesota International in 2006.

Although no there is no talent competition for the “Mrs.” pageants, Haseman says the women are a gifted and busy bunch. “We are all talented in juggling marriage, family, work and various other activities we are involved in!” Haseman will hold the titles Mrs. Minnesota International 2006 and Mrs. South Dakota United States 2011 forever, but the terms officially end when the winners are chosen the next year.
