Hot Appetizer Pairing

These recipes are sure to be a hit at your next summer party.

Tired of cooking the same old burgers and dogs on the grill? So are we. Thankfully, the pros at Cowboy Jack’s Saloon came to our rescue. Here are the recipes for the restaurant’s mouthwatering signature smokies and the most refreshing cocktail to pair them with. Enjoy!

Cowboy Smokies

2 cups ketchup*

2 cups barbecue sauce*

4 oz. your favorite beer

1 oz. butter

4 oz. diced white onion

1 oz. of chopped garlic

1 tsp. table-ground black pepper

2 lbs. of ambassador smokies or cocktail wieners

Sauté onions and garlic in butter until onions are golden brown, then add beer. Once the beer boils, add the ketchup and BBQ sauce; bring to a simmer, and reduce heat. Grill smokies just enough to mark and get a slight char; add to sauce, and serve.

            3 parts Jim Beam

            1 part triple Triple Sec
