As you prepare for the upcoming school year and winter season by combing through your closets, you’re likely finding things you no longer have a use for. Not to sound cliché, but one person’s trash truly is another’s treasure, so why not donate those two-sizes-too-small items?
Last September we introduced you to Plymouth resident Duane Crandall’s business, gooddonor.org, which allows you to donate items to charities without ever leaving your home. Crandall says August is the perfect time to donate items that didn’t sell at garage sales, especially those in high demand like winter coats, boots, and heavy sweaters.
Don’t forget to get your kids involved in donating, too. “Children can be mighty impressive,” says Crandall, who advises parents at least get their kids helping box items to be donated. He also recommends parents educate their kids, so they understand clothes that no longer fit them are going to someone who needs them. gooddonor.org
