Plymouth Celebrates Old Fashioned Christmas

Celebrate the Christmas of yore at Plymouth's Old Fashioned Christmas.
Plymouth's Old Fashioned Christmas.

Spend Christmas the old-fashioned way with the Plymouth Historical Society and Plymouth Parks and Recreation. The Historical Society Museum—site of the storied Old Fashioned Christmas—will be decorated with popcorn strings and holly as though it’s a home from the Victorian age. Volunteers will be dressed up as elves and holiday party-goers from decades past as carolers sing your favorite holiday tunes.

“It’s an old-fashioned, throw-back look at Christmas,” says Jessie Converse, program coordinator for Plymouth Parks and Recreation.

Attendees can enjoy hot chocolate, apple cider, freshly baked cookies and marshmallows roasted over a fire pit. The little ones in tow can even meet the man in red, who will give them a candy cane and talk to them about their Christmas wish list. The event, in its 26th year, is something you and your family don’t want to miss. –Brittany Trevick
