We recently spoke with Barbara Willis, a long-time Plymouth resident who owns her own music academy, to hear her thoughts on the great location, the child-friendly fun and much more that our community has to offer. What is your favorite park in Plymouth? Maplecreek Park. When our daughters were growing up, we had no neighborhood park; there was only an empty lot (People's Park). Now we walk our three grandchildren to a real playground within a wooded park—complete with a creek and ponds. Favorite Plymouth site? It would have to be Music in Plymouth, with the Minnesota Orchestra on the Hilde Performance Center stage with thousands of happy residents enjoying a summer evening of great music and fireworks. What’s your favorite place to shop in Plymouth? Lunds in Plymouth, of course. I think they have subliminal messaging in their air handling system that says, “Relax, sample something and enjoy your grocery shopping experience.” What makes Plymouth a great place to live?I feel that decades of careful planning, tireless work by city staff and elected officials, and the pride of our citizens and business leaders in our community all manifest in continuing Plymouth’s reputation as the No. 1 best city in which to live!
