A summer carnival with a splash of learning, Kids Fest features inflatables, games, prizes and entertainment held on the Hilde stage and surrounding lawn.

Since 1975 the weekend following Labor Day in Wayzata has been dedicated to honoring James J. Hill, Minnesota historic figure and once owner of the Great Northern Railroad Company. Hill, builder of the present train depot in 1906, contributed significantly to transform Wayzata into the beautiful tourist location and friendly community we know today. James J. Something tasty is heading to your hometown! America’s favorite cooking show is now on tour with MasterChef Junior Live! This high-energy, interactive, stage production brings the culinary hit TV show, MasterChef Junior, directly to fans and foodies alike… live on stage. Watch Season 8’s winner, finalist and fan favorites as they take to the stage in head-to-head cooking demonstrations and fun (sometimes messy) challenges with an overall immersive audience experience fun for all ages.  Parade Festivities
Festivities begin at 10 a.m. with decorations for the parade. Children should bring and decorate their bicycles, tricycles and strollers. Children will receive patriotic-themed bags filled with streamers, beads and the like to decorate, but participants may also bring their own decorative materials. Patriotic attire is also encouraged.

The parade begins at 10:30 a.m. with the Star Spangled Banner and other patriotic music, led by the Hamel Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5903. Read more about Happy Birthday America Parade

Gather your family and friends in the car to enjoy the sights and sounds of the Sever’s Holiday Lights. This year the half-mile course, located at Sever’s Festival grounds in Shakopee, is packed with 2 million lights set to holiday music favorites mixed to an upbeat track.

Stay in the safety and comfort of your own vehicle while enjoying this one-of-a-kind magical display. Munch on concessions including homemade calzones, mini donuts, cider and caramel corn. UNITY DAY, the signature event for National Bullying Prevention Month, will take place on Wednesday, October 21. This is the day when people around the world come together to unite for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion to create a world without bullying!

The call to action is simple: wear and share the color ORANGE!

Unity Day was initiated by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center to encourage students, educators, parents, community members, schools, businesses, and organizations to show their support for bullying prevention in one giant, orange message of hope. Read more about Unity Day

The Woods will be an original devised theater piece created by the ensemble with guidance from director, Sandra Struthers. The ensemble will take elements of folklore, urban legends, and spooky stories to create an immersive walk-through experience in the woods behind the high school. The perfect way to get into the Halloween spirit, audiences will be invited to walk along these haunted trails in safe, socially-distanced groups.
