Operation Kidsafe Child Safety Event

Join Delmonico Dance, local law enforcement, first responders and Operation Kidsafe for a free child safety fair. There will be an ice cream truck for the kids.  Parents will receive a lifetime record of their child's digital fingerprints and a form that is ready to hand to law enforcement in an emergency, as well as valuable safety tips. State Arbor Month Celebration and Minnesota Tree Climbing Championships

This year the DNR is celebrating Arbor Day and Arbor Month by encouraging families to play in natural settings such as your backyard, a nearby woodlot, or forested area.

The 2014 State Arbor Month Celebration will be at Oak Hill Park in St. Louis Park. The event will give families a chance to play with nature, while watching some of the best tree climbers in the state compete at the Minnesota Tree Climbing Championship.

Home Alone

Feeling unsure about leaving your kids alone during the day for the first time this summer? Prepare them, and ease your own mind with a “Home Alone” workshop hosted by the Plymouth Fire Department. This helpful workshop will teach children ages 8–10 how to respond in the event of an emergency through a variety of safety scenarios and issues led by Plymouth firefighters. Children will work interactively with the firefighters to learn about crime prevention in the home, fire escape plans, severe weather awareness and even Internet safety. Bike Rodeo

This family event at Golden Valley city hall will test kids’ safety skills as they navigate their bikes through a short obstacle course supervised by police personnel.
